About Munich

This southern German city is the capital of the state of Bavaria, and is reputedly one of the best cities to live in in the world. Munich is famed for its Oktoberfest, the traditional beer festival that takes place each year from late September to early October, where the beer is usually served in a 1-litre glass known as a Maß. In addition to its cathedral, the city has a significant historical heritage that includes the Nymphenburg Palace and two vast gardens, the Hofgarten and the Englischer Garten. It is home to one of Europe’s top football clubs, Bayern Munich. The local specialities include Leberkäse, literally “liver cheese”, which contains neither liver nor cheese.

1. Drawing
Through a single stroke, The Line represents panoramas of cities, legendary mountain tops, or even mythical music tracks visually represented by their soundwaves.
2. Cutting
Lines are laser cut from metal sheets, with an extreme accuracy. This step is carried out in France by several partners, including a cooperative company.
3. Gilding
Lines are gilded with 24-carat gold via an electrolysis process ensuring agglomeration of gold on the line.
4. Boxes and silkscreen
Despite significant production volumes, The Line keeps an artisanal manufacturing approach for its packaging, and uses a silkscreen process to guarantee an original and qualitative result.
5. Packing
Final packing of products is then carried out within ESATs (work-based learning centers dedicated to people with disabilities).
