This southern German city is the capital of the state of Bavaria, and is reputedly one of the best cities to live in in the world. Munich is famed for its Oktoberfest, the traditional beer festival that takes place each year from late September to early October, where the beer is usually served in a 1-litre glass known as a Maß.
